Strolled through some shops for the first time in weeks, and suddenly there’s a glut of great new books about designer toys. Hard to decide which one’s the best – they all appeal for different reasons… Now the question is: what’s more important – the toys or the books?

Plastic Culture: How Japanese Toys Conquered the World by Woodrow Phoenix.
This last one is not about vinyl toys, and it doesn’t examine of the development of its genre of soft toys. It’s more of an art book or catalogue documenting various stages of work in progress, covered in tactile felt and badges.
